Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Remuneration: As per Salaries and Remuneration Commission guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
i)Testing and stamping of mechanical and electronic weighing and measuring equipment
ii)Collecting data on verified equipment at traders premises, stamping stations and verification office
iii)Sampling pre-packaged goods for quantitative analysis
iv)Preparing testing equipment for inspection and investigation purposes
v)Preparing weighing and measuring equipment during trade fairs and exhibitions
vi)Giving evidence in Court on cases arising from infringement of the Weights and Measures Act (Cap 513) and Trade Descriptions Act (Cap 505)
vii)Perform any other duties as directed by the Supervisor(s)
Requirements for appointment
i)Be a citizen of Kenya;
ii)A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Chemistry, Computer Science, Law, Instrumentation, Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics), Micro-processors or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions
Certificate of Computer applications from a recognized institution.
NOTE:
Candidates shortlisted for the interviews for the above position will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by submitting copies of the following:
• Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
• Tax Compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance from the Ethics and anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Clearance Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
