Assistant Health Records and Information Management Officer III

Contract: 3 Years

Duties and Responsibilities 

This is entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:  receiving and documenting patient at hospital reception; registering and booking appointment for patients to clinic and consultation; storing and retrieving medical records documents; preparing clinics; updating bed bureau; editing of patient; case records; gathering data from different sources; capturing data from service points; maintaining records safety and confidentiality; storing and retrieving medical records; balancing daily bed return; creating and retrieving medical records;

Balancing daily bed returns; creating and maintaining master index; updating patient master index; directing patients to relevant clinics; scheduling of patient to the consultants and specialty clinics; assigning codes to disease and surgical procedures according to the International Classifications of  Disease and Procedures in Medicine; and preparing medical records reports. 

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

(i) Diploma in Health and Information Technology from a recognized institution; and 

(ii) Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.

NOTE:

Candidates shortlisted for the interviews for the above position will be required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by submitting copies of the following: 

• Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)

• Tax Compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

• Clearance from the Ethics and anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)

• Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)

• Clearance Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
