Introduction

The County Government of Homa Bay has distributed Kshs 25 million worth of essential medical drugs to health facilities across the county. The consignment was flagged off at Wagwe Health Center in Karachuonyo in January 10th 2024 and will be allocated to Level 3 and lower-tier hospitals and clinics. This initiative aligns with the county's commitment to improving healthcare access and service delivery.

Economic Benefit

Reliable provision of quality drugs is key to maintaining a healthy, productive workforce and minimizing preventable diseases. Enhancing medical supply chains will better equip facilities to treat illnesses, control outbreaks, and promote wellness county-wide. This allows citizens to spend less on care and focus efforts on economic activities.

Citizen Benefit

For Homa Bay residents, the drug distribution brings immense individual benefits. Affordable local access to screenings, medications, immunizations and care improves health outcomes and saves lives. Citizens across all the 40 wards, especially children and vulnerable groups, will gain increased dignity, financial security and quality of life from strengthened primary healthcare services.
