Roads minister inspects ongoing ward-based projects
Homa Bay County Executive Committee Member for Roads and Infrastructure, Hon. Danish Onyango, conducted an inspection of the ongoing gravelling and compacting works of the Got Kojowi-Lwanda-Awiti Centre-Wayara Road in Kwabwai Ward Ndhiwa Constituency this morning.
Speaking to residents while he was inspecting the road construction projects to assess their progress, the roads and transport executive expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing road construction work.
“We are pleased with the progress made so far on the Got Kojowi-Lwanda Awiti Centre-Wayara Road. This road is a critical infrastructure that will enhance the transport system in the region and provide a reliable transport network for the residents,” Onyango said.
Later in the afternoon, the County Roads and Infrastructure executive, accompanied by the County Secretary, Professor Muok, inspected the Nyakwamba Bridge in Kanyidoto Ward.
The Nyakwamba Bridge is a key infrastructure project that will connect the two sides of the ward and enhance the movement of people and agricultural products in the region.
Waziri Danish Onyango and Professor Muok were optimistic about the positive impact the bridge would have on the region.
“The construction of the Nyakwamba Bridge is a significant project for the residents of Ndhiwa sub county. It will enable farmers to transport their produce to the market quickly, and it will improve the social and economic livelihood of the people,” Professor Muok stated.
The inspection was part of governor Wanga administration’s efforts to enhance infrastructure development and promote economic growth in Homa Bay County.
The county government remains committed to completing critical infrastructure projects to ensure at least 2 major roads are effectively done to improve the lives of the residents.
The construction of the ward-based roads and key bridges is expected to be completed by the end of the current financial year, and will serve as a milestone in the infrastructure development of Homa Bay County.
