MR. NICHOLAS OBUYA K’ORIKO

He holds a Master degree in Business Administration from Maseno University

Mr K’Oriko is pursuing PhD in Business Management in Fund management at Maseno University. He is the head of microfinance/special projects and Remedial Management at Ecobank Kenya Limited with vast experience in fund management, loan analysis, and providing project finance support in the East African University

At Ecobank he has worked as Head of Customer care and microfinance, Country Head, Regional manager, Operations manager

He worked as the Internal Auditor at the Universal Bank Limited Manager, RSK Department at Trust Bank Limited. In the course of his duty, Mr.K’Oriko has provided visionary leadership that has developed business and revenue growth

He brings in to the County vast experience in financial planning, resource mobilization, fund management and business development strategies

MRS. BEATRICE AKINYI OYOMO

Born in 1968 in Asego Division of Homa Bay Sub-county in Homa Bay County

She holds a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nairobi. She also holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from Kenyatta University.

Beatrice is married with children

Has held various positions in the teaching profession

She was appointed as Director of the Board of Kenya Maritime Authority

Member of Maendeleo ya Wanawake- Homa Bay District

Member of Ndhiwa Constituency Bursary Fund

Coordinator of Kayambo Development Forum

She Brings in wealth of experience the management of local human and material resources

PROF. RICHARD MUGA

Prof Richard Otieno Muga (OGW, MBS,) MD. Mmed,Dip HSM. (Is) The County Executive Committee Member of Health Services in Homa Bay County and a former director of medical services.

Born in 1952, Prof. Richard had his primary education in Dudi and Ober before joining Homa Bay High School and Alliance High School for higher education in Kenya. He thereafter proceeded to the University of Nairobi where he studied Medicine. During his public service, he received Head of State awards for dedicated service and these included MBS, OGW. (MBS-Moran of the Burning Spear) OGW-Order of the Grand Warrior).

Before joining the county government of Homa Bay to take up the challenging job of the CECM health services under the leadership of H.E Cyprian Awiti, Prof Muga was the dean school of medicine at Uzima University and later deputy principal in charge of academics. He is currently championing universal health care and also leading the response to fight covid-19 in Homabay County.

Professor Muga also served in various leadership and academic capacities such as DVC in charge of finance and administration as well as a Professor of Child Health at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu. Also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Coordination Agency for Population and Development (NCAPD) in the Ministry of Planning and National Development.  As a trained pediatrician and public health specialist, he has been involved in health systems management at all levels as he held responsible positions at community, district, provincial levels and national level.  He served as the country’s National Director of medical services from before joining the University as professor of child health and Health Systems Development. He has been involved in service delivery, management and policy development. Prior to joining full time teaching assignment Prof Muga taught for a number of  years as part time lecturer at the Tropical Institute of Community Health and Galilee college sponsored programs.

Prof. Muga holds a Masters degree in Child Health and Post-graduate Diploma in Health Systems Management. He has over 40 years of Public Service most of which involved leadership and health systems management at different levels in the health sector. He has served as a member in the Country’s Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for the Global Fund and Head of Health Sector Reform Programme during which he championed resource mobilization for the health sector in Kenya.

His main areas of interest include health systems management, health systems research, planning of health services, and donor support negotiations.

Mr. Aguko Juma

Mr. Aguko Juma is the CEC Member for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Homa Bay County Government.

Mr. Aguko Juma was born in 1965 in Lambwe Valley, Homa Bay County. He went to God Jope Primary School, Tom Mboya Secondary School for O Levels and Mbita High School for A Levels before joining Nairobi University where he graduated with BA in Anthropology in 1992.

He holds a Masters in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi (2012) and is currently pursuing PhD in climate change and Adaptation in the same institution.

Before being appointed as a CEC Member, Mr. Aguko worked as the Director Water Services Regulatory Board for three years.

He was the first person to hold the position of a Manager at the KUSCO Housing Fund initially; he was the Regional Sales Manager LPG Total Kenya and a Research Fellow at the Department of Sites and Monuments, National Museum of Kenya.

He has a vast experience in Agriculture and is very passionate about farming.

 

Dickson Oruko Nyawinda

Dickson Oruko Nyawinda is the CEC Member for Water, Sanitation, Environment & Forestry. He is also the designated CEC Member for Climate Change Homa Bay County Government.

Born in 1965 in Homa Bay Sub County, Homa Bay County, Dickson Nyawinda attended Lala Primary School where he sat for his CPE in 1979. He proceeded to Pe-Hill High School for O level and Gendia High School for A levels.

He then joined Maulana Azad University in India where he pursued Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing & Finance) in 1993. He later joined MS University of Baroda, India where he graduated with degree in law (LLB) and is currently pursuing Masters of Law (LLM) in Technology and Intellectual Property at Liverpool University.

Nyawinda enrolled in the Kenya School of Law for Diploma in Law and was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1999.

Prior to joining the County Government of Homa Bay as a CEC Member, he was practicing law under D.N Oruko & CO. Advocates.

He holds several Diplomas in different specialized areas of law and is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya.

 

 

Beatrice Atieno Asiago

Beatrice Atieno Asiagois the CEC Member foe Education and ICT in Homa Bay County Government.

She was born in 1958 in Yala Division of Siaya County. The mother of four is married in Kaksingri East Ward of Suba South Sub County Homa Bay County.

Beatrice joined Kenyatta University where she pursued Bachelor of Arts (Political Science & Socilogy) and later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in the same Institution. She holds a Masters Degree in Education Administration from Kenyatta University and is currently pursuing PhD in the same field at Kabarak University.

Before joining the County Government of Homa Bay, she served as a District Inspector of Schools, District Education Officer in many Districts and County Director of Education in many Counties.

She is a member of Maendeleo ya Wanawake, JIPAK and a member of United Methodist Church where she served as the Women President of East Africa Annual Conference.

She is involved in many mentorship programs for girls and young adults and brings a wealth of experience in the County’s education sector.
