The Deputy Governor H.E Hamilton Orata today led the county in celebrating Kenya’s 56th Madaraka day celebrations at Ringa High School play grounds in Kabondo Kasipul Sub County.

The Deputy County Chief addressed the county on the development plans the County Government has for the residents of Homabay County and the milestones it has achieved since inception of devolution.

He stated that Homabay County Government has received 56% of the projected allocation this financial year which is inadequate for robust development. He further appealed to the Cabinet Secretary for Treasury Henry Rotich to publish money that has already been released to the 47 Counties for transparency and accountability purposes

The County commissioner Mr. Samson Macharia Irungu pledged to work closely with the county government to bring to action the Presidents’ big four agenda.

Deputy Governor H.E Hamilton Orata, Kabondo Kasipul MP Hon. Eve Obara, County executive members and Members of County Assembly were among guests present during the ceremony.
