GOVERNOR COMMISSIONS CONSTRUCTION OF SH 4.5 MILLION ACHAK BRIDGE
Achak Bridge in Kokwanyo-Kakelo, Kabondo Kasipul Sub County will be constructed by the County Government at a cost of approximately 4.5 million within two months.
The bridge that is currently dilapidated is important as it connects Kokwanyo and Kakelo communities.
Speaking at the bridge on Thursday afternoon during a tour of development projects ,Governor Cyprian Awiti challenged the contractor to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated two month period, He was accompanied during the tour by his Deputy Hamilton Orata, CEC member for Transport and Infrastructure Dr. David Okeyo, Chief Officer Eng. Chris Agong, the Chief of staff Eliud Otieno, Rachuonyo East Seputy County Commissioner Mr Jack Obwo and area MCA Dan Ochieng among other officials.
The County Chief reiterated that he is determined to leave a legacy to the residents of Homa bay County by ensuring that he fulfills all the pledges he made in his manifesto during August 8,2017 campaigns.
‘’I focused on infrastructure in my manifesto and before I leave office I will ensure this is achieved ” he said
Awiti promised to work closely with the National Government to initiate development projects within the County. He asked the elected leaders of Homa Bay to stop politicking and instead deliver to the electorates who will judge them only by their development track records
The Chief Officer assured the residents that funds for the project is available and nobody should use it as an excuse to delay the project. During the tour,Governor Awiti also visited the ongoing construction of both Nyakwere Market and Miriu Health centre in Wangchieng Ward.
