The County Government of Homa Bay has today morning presented Sub County Beach Management Unit Chairpersons with assortment of items as part of effort to curb the spread of Corona Virus.

The items which included six thousand face masks, four hundred bottles of sanitizers and two hundred bar soaps are supposed to be given to Fishermen in 146 beaches within the County.

While presenting the consignment on behalf of HE Governor Cyprian Awiti, the CEC Member for Agriculture Mr. Aguko Juma urged them to ensure fair distribution in all the beaches.

He stressed that the County Government is committed to fighting covid-19 pandemic and assured them of more packages to cushion them against the spread of the virus.

Mr. Aguko urged the fisher folk to maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene and asked them to stick to the Ministry of Health and the Government’s guidelines in order to stem out covid-19.

National Beach Management Unit Chairperson Tom Guda thanked the County Government for the gesture saying it was a manifestation that the County Government has the interest of the fisher folk at heart.
