COUNTY LABORATORY OFFICERS END THEIR STRIKE
Homa Bay County’s branch Secretary for Kenya National Union of Medical Laboratory Officers called off their strike this afternoon, after clinching a deal with the county government.
The County secretary Mr. Isaiah Ogwe signed the agreement and appealed to laboratory officers to resume their duties immediately.
“We have agreed with the union today that the government will provide adequate Personal Protective Equipment and we are on course to improve their terms of service,” He said.
Branch Secretary Mr. Joseph Opondo acknowledged the deal, saying they had to consider lives especially during this pandemic.
“We are in agreement with the county and are therefore grateful our issues have been addressed.”
He added that the union is still negotiating with the county government about January salaries dues for medical laboratory officers.
County Chief Officer Dr. Gerald Aketche and County Director for Human Resources Mr. Modi Auma were present at the boardroom meeting.
