COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICERS GET 20 MOTORCYCLES
Homa Bay government acquired 20 motorcycles for agricultural extension officers to enable them reach farmers, to educate them on best farm practices.
Governor Cyprian Awiti said on Tuesday the county got support from USAID agency through the World Bank to ease the movements of the officers across all the wards.
The Governor spoke when he flagged off the motorbikes at the county headquarters. He appreciated the important role played by extension officers especially during this pandemic period.
“We are seeking resources from our development partners to further support our livestock production officers among other critical departments,” Awiti said.
The Governor said agriculture is a devolved function and its therefore critical to facilitate extension service delivery.
County Executive for Agriculture, Hon. Juma Aguko said the bikes will be accessible countywide and that no ward would be left out.
