BOOST IN FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 AS THE COUNTY RECEIVS EQUIPMENT FROM WATER AGENCY.

Governor Cyprian Awiti today received a delegation from Kisumu based Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency (LVWWDA).

The delegation who were led by Chairman of the Board Dr. Dan Omino brought an assortment of items to help in the fight against corona virus pandemic in the County.

Dr. Dan Omino who was accompanied by the Acting CEO Eng. George Odedeh and two Directors handed the items that included twenty 5000 liters storage water tanks, 2 motor bikes and hand washing equipment.

Speaking outside his Office, Awiti lauded officials from the Agency   for their quick response following last week’s meeting where he had requested the Agency for help.

He indicated that since he took over, his administration has increased water accessibility to the County residents from 20% to the current 43%

Awiti pledged to ensure that through the ongoing Ward based programs water accessibility to the residents will hit the 80% by the time he leaves office.

The Governor also presented eight motor bikes donated from Dunea, Netherlands to HOMAWASCO to help in surveillance of nonrevenue water in the entire County.

In Homa Bay County, three major projects have been completed by the Agency. They include Kanyadhiang Water Supply Project, Sindo Water Supply Project and Kosiga Dam in Rangwe. Four major projects namely Homabay cluster, West Karachuonyo, Kendu Bay and Oyugis Clusters are ongoing at various stages of completion.
